Artist Point weekend

It was time for the annual Mt. Baker Artist Point weekend excursion. Not a serious trek at all, it's just a fun time to get out and experience winter camping for an evening. This time around I was joined by My friends John, Alan and my son Jacob. Joel and Ben came along for the day on Saturday, but declined to spend the evening. We parked at the Mt. Baker ski area and walked up to Artist Point in all of an hour or two. Normally a trailhead parking lot in the summer, Artist Point is transformed into a winter wonderland of snow covered benches and parklands in the winter. Lots of folks out on a sunny Saturday, but they all pretty much disappeared by 3pm and we had the place to ourselves.

As often is the case, I didn't take any pictures until we reached our spot for the night. Here's John relaxing in what will become our tent spot for the evening.
Here's the rest of the group - Jacob, Alan, Ben and Joel.
Once seated and comfortable, it was tough to get up and do anything.
